What You Need to Do to Get Paid

You can file a claim in two ways:

1. File Online

Visit the official settlement website.
Submit your Claim Form by 11:59 p.m. PST on January 21, 2026.

2. File by Mail or Email

Download the paper Claim Form from the website.
Mail the completed form to YouTube Privacy Settlement, c/o A.B. Data, Ltd., P.O. Box 173131, Milwaukee, WI 53217.
Alternatively, email the form to info@YouTubePrivacySettlement.com.
Ensure your submission is postmarked or sent by January 21, 2026.

Background of the Lawsuit

The lawsuit alleges that Google and YouTube violated privacy laws by tracking and collecting personal data from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. Plaintiffs claim this data was collected when children watched cartoons and other child-directed content on YouTube and was used for advertising purposes. Google denies these allegations and maintains it did nothing wrong.

What does the Settlement provide?

Google will pay $30 million into a Settlement Fund. After deducting fees, costs, and service awards, the remaining funds will be distributed pro rata to eligible Class Members who file valid claims.

When is the deadline to file a claim?

You must submit your Claim Form online by January 21, 2026, or mail it postmarked no later than January 21, 2026.

Do I need a lawyer?

No. The Court has appointed lawyers from Silver Golub & Teitell LLP and Pritzker Levine LLP to represent the Class. You will not be charged for their services. You may hire your own lawyer at your own expense if you wish.

When will I receive my payment?

Payments will be made after the Court grants final approval to the Settlement and any appeals are resolved. The Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for January 13, 2026.
