Payments will be calculated on a pro rata basis depending on the number of valid claims filed. The exact amount is unknown at this time.
The lawsuit alleges that Google and YouTube violated privacy laws by tracking and collecting personal data from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. Plaintiffs claim this data was collected when children watched cartoons and other child-directed content on YouTube and was used for advertising purposes. Google denies these allegations and maintains it did nothing wrong.
