Storr Office Environments settlement payments are up to $825 per person, depending on which benefit option you select and what you can document. The $40 alternative cash payment requires no documentation and is available to all class members. If you choose Benefit Option 1 instead, you can claim up to $750 for documented out-of-pocket expenses related to the breach, plus up to $75 for lost time (up to three hours at $25 per hour), plus one year of free credit monitoring. You cannot combine the $40 cash payment with any Option 1 benefits. Payments will be sent after the court grants final approval of the settlement, which is scheduled to be considered at the Final Approval Hearing on July 1, 2026.
In May 2024, Storr Office Environments discovered it had been the target of a cyberattack that compromised personal information stored on its network. The breach affected current and former employees and others whose data was held by the company. Plaintiff Gregory Allen filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, alleging that Storr failed to adequately protect that information.
Storr denies all allegations of wrongdoing or liability. The court has not ruled on the merits of the case. Both sides agreed to settle in order to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation.
The settlement makes up to $300,000 available to class members. Depending on which benefit option you choose, you can receive a flat $40 cash payment, reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses up to $750, compensation for lost time up to $75, or one year of free single-bureau credit monitoring with $1,000,000 in identity theft protection insurance.
