Background of the Lawsuit

In May 2024, Storr Office Environments discovered it had been the target of a cyberattack that compromised personal information stored on its network. The breach affected current and former employees and others whose data was held by the company. Plaintiff Gregory Allen filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, alleging that Storr failed to adequately protect that information.

Storr denies all allegations of wrongdoing or liability. The court has not ruled on the merits of the case. Both sides agreed to settle in order to avoid the cost and uncertainty of continued litigation.

The settlement makes up to $300,000 available to class members. Depending on which benefit option you choose, you can receive a flat $40 cash payment, reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses up to $750, compensation for lost time up to $75, or one year of free single-bureau credit monitoring with $1,000,000 in identity theft protection insurance.
