Mediate v. Lifeline Screening of America, Ltd. is a class action lawsuit filed in District Court of Travis County, Texas (Cause No. D-1-GN-25-000401). The lawsuit alleges that Lifeline Screening, a medical device company, intentionally exposed Settlement Class Members’ confidential personally identifiable information and protected health information to third parties, including Meta Platforms, Inc. and Google, Inc.
Specifically, the lawsuit claims Lifeline Screening used tracking technologies on its website to transmit visitors’ communications, search queries, and detailed information about medical screening tests selected and ordered to Meta and other third parties without consent. Lifeline Screening denies any wrongdoing.
The parties have reached a proposed settlement that is pending final approval. If approved, eligible individuals who used Lifeline Screening’s website from June 1, 2018, onward may receive compensation based on which subclass they belong to.
