Time is running out for certain Cigna LocalPlus members.
Today is the final day to submit a claim in the Cigna LocalPlus class action settlement, which resolves allegations that some members were incorrectly charged out-of-network rates for healthcare services that were listed as in-network.
The lawsuit alleges that Cigna LocalPlus plan members received unexpected balance bills after obtaining medical care from providers that were identified as in-network, but later billed as out-of-network.
As a result, some members may have paid higher out-of-pocket costs than their plan should have required.
Cigna denies any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the claims.
You may be eligible to file a claim if:
Settlement payments vary and depend on individual circumstances, including the medical services received and any amounts paid out of pocket.
The deadline to file a claim is today. Claims submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
