Seven Counties Services settlement payments are up to $75 as an alternative cash payment, or up to $5,000 for documented losses, or reimbursement for lost time up to $100 total. Payments are issued by the settlement administrator after the settlement is approved and becomes final, via your selected payment method on the claim form.

Background of the Lawsuit

Between July 19 and August 12, 2024, Seven Counties Services, Inc. experienced a cybersecurity incident that exposed sensitive personal information of customers and clients. Plaintiffs David Overstreet, Desiree Grider, and Jack Fusting alleged that Seven Counties failed to adequately secure its network, allowing cybercriminals to access and steal private information.

Seven Counties denies all claims of wrongdoing or liability. The parties agreed to settle the case without trial. Under the settlement, Seven Counties will provide cash payments, reimbursement for documented losses and lost time, and three years of credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to class members who file valid claims. Seven Counties has also agreed to implement business practice enhancements to further secure its computer systems.

You are eligible if you were impacted by the cybersecurity incident at Seven Counties Services between July 19 and August 12, 2024, and received notice of the data incident. Excluded are judges, court staff, officers and directors of Seven Counties, and certain criminal defendants.
The claim deadline is April 20, 2026. Online claims must be submitted by 8:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Mailed claim forms must be postmarked by April 20, 2026.

You can receive an alternative cash payment of $75, reimbursement for documented losses up to $5,000 with supporting documentation, lost time reimbursement up to $100, or three years of credit monitoring and identity theft protection services.
For documented losses, submit receipts or other non-self-prepared documents proving costs related to the data breach. For lost time, provide an attestation that your time was spent mitigating effects of the incident. For the alternative cash payment, no supporting documents are required.
Payments will be issued after the settlement is approved and becomes final. Credit monitoring services will be activated via email instructions. Other payments will be sent via your selected payment method on the claim form. The approval process may take time.
If you do nothing, you will not receive any settlement benefits. You will also give up your right to sue Seven Counties and other released parties about the legal issues resolved by this settlement.
Yes. You must submit a Request for Exclusion postmarked by March 23, 2026 to the settlement administrator. If you exclude yourself, you cannot receive settlement benefits but you can pursue your own lawsuit against Seven Counties.
