To get paid from the Premium Mortgage Data Breach settlement:
Visit the Settlement Website at https://www.pmcdatalitigation.com/ and submit your Claim Form online.
Print the Claim Form from https://www.pmcdatalitigation.com/, complete it, and mail it to the Settlement Administrator with any required supporting documentation.
Provide proof of your identity and evidence of your membership in the settlement class, such as account statements or correspondence from Premium Mortgage related to the data breach.
Documented proof required for ordinary out-of-pocket losses (up to $325) and extraordinary losses from fraud/identity theft (up to $5,000). Lost time claims require attestation describing how time was spent. Alternatively, claim the $50 flat Alternative Cash Payment without supporting documentation, plus credit monitoring.
Premium Mortgage settlement payments are up to $5,325 per person for documented losses from the data breach, or a flat $50 alternative payment, plus three years of credit monitoring with up to $1,000,000 in identity theft protection. Payments are issued by the Claims Administrator to the address provided on your Claim Form after the settlement is approved and becomes final.
On or around January 10, 2024, Premium Mortgage Corporation announced that personal information on its systems had been potentially compromised through unauthorized access occurring between August 24, 2023 and August 31, 2023. Approximately 10,835 customers were affected, with potentially compromised data including full names, Social Security numbers, payment card information, and financial account information.
Plaintiffs Cory Rehmsmeyer and Toni Hyde filed a class action lawsuit in New York Supreme Court, Monroe County, asserting claims related to the data breach and PMC’s handling of customer information. PMC denies all liability and wrongdoing. The parties agreed to settle to avoid protracted litigation and its associated costs and risks.
Under the settlement, Premium Mortgage Corporation has agreed to provide benefits to affected customers including reimbursement for documented losses up to $5,000, lost time compensation, and three years of credit monitoring, plus certain business practice improvements related to information security.
