Settlement Fund Breakdown

Background of the Lawsuit

In August 2024, NWRPC experienced a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems. The attack potentially compromised private information including names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers for approximately 68,500 individuals.

Class representatives Tera Shaeffer, Jennifer Lehuta, and Hannah Mead filed a class action lawsuit challenging NWRPC’s data security practices. NWRPC denies wrongdoing and the Court has not ruled in favor of either party. The parties agreed to settle to avoid litigation costs and provide benefits to affected individuals.

The settlement provides affected individuals with up to three years of credit data monitoring and cash payments of either up to $3,000 for documented losses or a flat $50 without proof. Visit the official settlement website for more information.
