Background of the Lawsuit

In June 2024, M&R Printing Equipment, Inc. was hit by a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems. The lawsuit alleges that certain files were accessed during the attack, which may have contained personal information including names, Social Security numbers, and credit card numbers.

Plaintiff Eric Rosynek filed suit in the Circuit Court of DuPage County, Illinois (Case No. 2025CH0000278), alleging that M&R failed to adequately protect the personal data of individuals whose information was stored on its systems.

M&R denies any wrongdoing, and the court has not ruled on the merits. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the costs and uncertainty of continued litigation. For more information, visit the official settlement website. The proposed settlement provides affected individuals with credit monitoring, reimbursement for documented losses, and a flat cash payment option.
