The lawsuit accused Ideal Image Development Corporation of violating the Florida Security of Communications Act, California Invasion of Privacy Act, and Electronic Communications Privacy Act by using tracking technologies to disclose website users’ personally identifiable information (PII) without consent. Specifically, users of IdealImage.com who scheduled consultations had their personal data shared with third parties through these unauthorized tracking technologies.
Ideal Image denied the allegations and any violations of law. Rather than continue litigation, both sides agreed to settle the case to avoid the risks, uncertainties, and expenses of ongoing litigation. The settlement provides monetary relief and requires Ideal Image to suspend the use of tracking technologies that disclose PII to third parties without consent.
