Background of the Lawsuit

Plaintiff Stephen Kent sued Eigen Labs, Inc. on behalf of job applicants in Washington, claiming the company violated the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110) by failing to disclose wage scales, salary ranges, or general descriptions of benefits in job postings for open positions between January 1, 2023, and July 26, 2025. The lawsuit was filed on February 7, 2025, in King County Superior Court.

Eigen Labs denied all allegations and asserted that it violated no law. The parties then settled the dispute rather than proceed with ongoing litigation. The settlement provides $1,000,000 to resolve all claims without any admission of wrongdoing by Eigen Labs.
