Between March 18-24, 2024, an unauthorized actor accessed systems within ALN Medical Management’s third-party hosted environment managed by Long View Systems Corporation. ALN Medical Management, a healthcare advisory firm providing billing, coding, and other services to medical clinics and providers, confirmed that approximately 1.8 million current and former patients had their private information accessed, including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, government-issued IDs, financial account information, medical records, and health insurance information. On March 21, 2025, ALN began notifying affected individuals of the breach.
A consolidated class action lawsuit was filed in federal court in Nebraska alleging negligence, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of the California Consumer Privacy Act. The case against Long View Systems remains ongoing. On August 4, 2025, after mediation, ALN Medical Management agreed to settle all claims without admitting liability or wrongdoing. The settlement provides a $4,000,000 fund to compensate affected individuals.
