Background of the Lawsuit

In July 2024, Gryphon Healthcare, a medical billing services provider, experienced a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems that resulted in unauthorized access to confidential files. The compromised data potentially contained personal information including names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, medical records, diagnosis and treatment information, and prescription details.

Danny Wood, Sylvia Cortez, Delaria Cortez, Corey Myers, Ericka Parker, Sarah Smith, Aaron Johnson, Elva Mendoza, and Angela Morris filed a class action lawsuit against Gryphon Healthcare in Harris County District Court. Gryphon denies any wrongdoing. The parties agreed to settle the case to avoid the costs and risks of continued litigation and to provide benefits to affected individuals.
